On Friday March 12th 2010 I drove down to Baytown Texas to look for a Bald Eagle.
A flickr friend posted his photos of the Eagles and I couldn't believe there was a Bald Eagle in Baytown which was only 15 minutes away. So I grabbed my Canon and took off.
Within 10 minutes of arriving, I had shot some of my most prized photos ever of an actual wild Bald Eagle. Before Friday, I had never even seen a bald eagle. I had heard that a few existed in east Texas, however I never paid too much attention. All that changed after seeing this 6 foot bird fly and land within 30 meters of my camera.
I've been back to shoot Elvis and Priscilla (which was named by Harry and the photo gang) daily and eah time I was rewarded with even more photos. Harry's a photog that shoots daily on top of his Chevy. You can't miss him.
I'm planning on making this a daily event for the next two months. If you get a chance, stop by and see the Baytown Bald Eagles before June 2010! You won't be disappointed.
Bring some lawn chairs and show up about 5pm and you will most likely see a show before sunset.
You can find Elvis and Priscilla just on the east side of the Gold Course on Tri City Beach Rd (2354) here:
